Bhutan Culture Tour Highlights :
Visit National Library - extensive collection of inexpensive Buddhist manuscripts, Institute for Zorig Chusum, Handicrafts Emporium and local crafts shops, Wangduephodrang valley, View The Highest Bhutan's peak Gangkar Puensum – 7497 meters, Trongsa Dzong, visit Rinpung Dzong, Taktsang Monastery and Drukgyel Dzong.

Western Bhutan Tour Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrive Paro & Transfer to Thimpu
Meeting and greetings on arrival at Paro Airport and straight proceed to Thimpu. Check into the hotel on arrival. Rest of the time free. Overnight stay at hotel.

Day 02 - Thimphu
After breakfast in the morning at the hotel leave for sightseeing of Thimphu valley visiting the National Library, having extensive collection of inexpensive Buddhist manuscripts, Institute for Zorig Chusum - known as Painting School - students take 6-year training course in Bhtanese 13 traditional arts & crafts. Followed by visiting Textile and Folk Heritage Museum.

Afternoon tour to visit Trashichhoedzong "fortress of the glorious religion" - Government and Religion Center - Built by the political and religious unifier of Bhutan in 1641, Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal – rebuilt in Bhutanese Manner in 1960s without any architectural plans. Later tour of King's Memorial Chorten where you will see murmuring mantras and spinning prayer wheels by Monks and Locals. Later also tour to visit the government-run Handicrafts Emporium and local crafts shops where you will have a chance to see Bhutanese fine traditional arts and if liked you can purchase Hand-Woven Textiles, Thangkha Paintings, Masks, Ceramics, slate and wood carvings, Tradistional Jewelry etc. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 03 - Thimphu to Trongsa - 6 hours
Morning after an early breakfast proceed to Trongsa over Dochula pass (3,080m). You will have some breathtaking views of Himalayan ranges on clear day. Some of the peaks can be viewed are Masagang – 7158 meters, Tsendagang – 6960 meters, Jejegangphugang – 7158 meters, Kangphuganga – 7170 meters, Zongphugang – 7060 meters and Highest Bhutan's peak Gangkar Puensum – 7497 meters.

Continue your drive to Trongsa enroute enjoy Wangduephodrang valley and over Pelela Pass – 3300 meters and also visit Chendbji Chorten on the way. Check into the hotel on arrival for overnight stay.

Day 04: Trongsa to Bumthang - 3 Hours
After breakfast in the morning tour of Trongsa Dzong – an ancient seat of kings of the past built in 1648. Later drive to Bumthang over Yutong La pass (3,400m). From here you will enter into the open Valley of Chumey. Check into the hotel on arrival at Bumthang.

Afternoon tour to visit Kurje Lhakhang where the saint Padmasambhava subdued a local demon and left his body imprint on a rock, Later also visit the Jambey Lhakhang – Temple Built in 7th century, Tamshing Monastery - oldest monastic school, the Jakar Dzong (administrative centre of the region) and Swiss Farm House. Overnight at the lodge/hotel.

Day 05: Bumthang to Punakha - 7 Hrs
Post breakfast at lodge / hotel visit fascinating valley of Bumthang. Later proceed to Trongsa where you will have traditional lunch at local restaurant. On the way to Punakha visit Wangduephodrang Dzong and town. Evening free.
Overnight at the hotel.

Day 06: Punakha to Paro - 4 Hrs
Morning after breakfast tour of Punakha Dzong – Masive structure on junction of 2 rivers built in as Capital of Bhutan till 1955. Now is being used as Winter Residence of Monk Body. This Fortress has seen many damages like fire, Earthquake and Flood including flood in October 1994 but stautue of Buddha Jojampa was spared miraculously. Late leave by car to Paro enroute visiting traditional Bhutanese farm house where you will experience good insight into local lifestyle, People and Culture. Arrive and check into the hotel.

Later after some relax visit Ta Dzong – National Museum built in 1968 and have good collection of Art, Relics, Religious Thangkha Paintings and Postage Stamps of Bhutan, Coins, Handicrafts and Natual History Collection. Later visit Rinpung Dzong by walk - Also known as Fortress of the heap of Jewels- built in 1646 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. Dzong now serves as Monastic Body of Paro, District Administrative office and Thrimpon of Paro district.
Overnight at the hotel.

Day 07: Paro
Post breakfast at hotel leave for an excursion to Taktsang Monastery- Famous among Bhutanese monasteries. Legend says that Guru Rinpoche came here riding on tigress and meditated at this monastery. Hence also known as "Tiger's Nest".

Afternoon tour of Drukgyel Dzong - This dzong is situated in a picturesque village nestling below its ramparts, was built in 1646 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal to commemorate his victory over the Tibetan invaders.

From here on clear day your can have stunning Chomolhari Mountain View. Evening visit Kyichu Lhakhang - 7th century sacred and one of the oldest Shrines of Bhutan.

Day 08: Depart Paro
Transfer to the airport intime to board flight for onward journey.
