Bhutan Culture and Nature Tour Itinerary:

Day 01 - Arrive Paro
Met upon arrival by our representative and transfer to the hotel.
Evening around the town's main street. Overnight at the hotel..

Day 02 - Paro
Mornign post breakfast at hotel tour to visit Ta Dzong - National Museum. Original this was built as Watchtower and now converted into the National Museum. The museum has collection of ancient Bhutanese art and artifacts, weapons, coins, stamps and a natural history collection as well. Then walk down a hillside trail to visit Rinpung Dzong (Paro Dzong) situated at a commanding height overlooking Paro valley. Built by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal in 1646, this dzong now houses Paro's monk body and the offices of the civil administration and is symbolic as the religious and secular centre of all affairs of the valley.

Later visit Rinpung Dzong by walk - Also known as Fortress of the heap of Jewels- built in 1646 by Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. Dzong now serves as Monastic Body of Paro, District Administrative office and Thrimpon of Paro district.
Evening enjoy a visit to Kyichu Lhakhang, Sacred and one of the oldest Shrine in Bhutan.

Day 03 - Paro to Thimphu – 1 ½ hrs
Drive to Thimpu in the morning post breakfast - the modern capital. On the way stop at Chuzom (confluence) where Paro and Thimpur rivers meet each other. Lated proceed to Thimpu via visiting Simtokha Dzong - the oldest fortress now converted into the School for Buddhist studies. Afternoon visit King's Memorial Chhorten and Trashichhodzong - beautiful medieval Fortress and Monastery. Later visit Handicrafts Emporium, Textile and Folk Heritage Museum and local market.
Overnight at the hotel.

Day 04 - Thimpu to Punakha – 3 hours drive Breakfast and and tour of Thimpu Valley visiting Trashichhoedzong – nice medieval Fortress & Monastery houses Government office & Kings Throne room. Later also tour of National Library – having collection of Ancient Buddhist Texts & Mnuscripts, Arts and Crafts School to see Thangkha paintings, Textiles and Folk Heritage museum. Afternoon Tour of Handicrafts Emporium – hand woven & craft product, Memorial Chorten.
Late afternoon leave by car for Punakha crossing over Dochula Pass – 3080m. Check into the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 05 - Punakha to Gangtey via Wangduephodrang - 3 hours
Drive to Gangtey after via Wangduephodrang where you will visit majestic Wangdue Dzong and interesting local market. From here you will drive through dense forests and oak, rhododendron tress to reach Gangtey or Phobjikha Valley. Spend you rest of the tame waling through the Gangtey Village and Gangtey Gompa which is only one Nyingmapa Monastery in the area. Overnight stay at Camp or Guest House.

Day 06 - Gangtey to Trongsa - 4.1/2 hours
Morning explore Phobjikha valley - famous for Black Necked Migrated Cranes from Central Asiatic Plateau. Afternoon drive to Trongsa over Pele La - 3,300m. Evening explore Trongsa market
Overnight at the lodge.

Day 07 - Trongsa to Bumthang - 3 hours
AM tour of Trongsa Dzong - the master piece of Bhutanese architecture. Also visit Ta Dzong, the watch tower, built to defend this Dzong and surrounding region. Afternoon leave for Bumthang - religious heartland of Bhutan. Evening free to relax.

Day 08: Bumthang
Bumthang is a combination of Chumey Valley, Choekhor Valley, Tang and Ura Valleys. All these valleys ranges from 2600 meters to 4000 meters. Bumthang many of prominent Buddhist temples and monasteries.

Tour of Tamshing Lhakhang, the house of religious Buddhist paintings, Also visit Jakar Dzong - administrative centre of the valley. Afternoon visit Kurje Lhakhang - most sacred places followed by visiting Jambay Lhakhang - ancient monastery dating from the introduction of Buddhism in the country. Evening exploration of local shops. Overnight at the lodge.

Day 09 - Bumthang - Excursion to Ura valley
Morning after breakfast leave for an excursion trip to visit Ura Valley driving through the open Countryside roads and forests. You will drive through a vast Sheep pasture line around Tang Valley and over Ura la Pass – 3600 meters where you will have magnificent views of Mount. Gangkhar Puensum. On arrival visit clustered houses of the Ura Villages, newly built (1986) temple dedicated to Guru Rinpoche which contains a huge statue of the master and remarkable paintings of the cycle of his teachings. Ura has been transformed from a marginal community to prosperous valley since 1986.

Day 10 - Bumthang / Wangduephodrang - 7 hours
Morning post breakfast explore Bumthang market. Late morning leave for Wangdue by car. Arrive and check into the hotel. Evening stroll around Wangdue town and local market.

Day 11 - Wangduephodrang to Paro - 3 hours
Morning after breakfast leave for an excursion trip to Chimi Lhakhang - situated in the centre of valley on Hillock - dedicated to Lama (saint) Drukpa Kuenley who in the late 15th century used humour, songs and outrageous behaviour to dramatise his teachings. For this reason he is also known as "Divine Madman". The temple is also known as the Temple of Fertility. Childless couple seeing a child are blessed here after they pray at this temple. Temple is approached through the fileds in around 30 minutes from road head.
Afternoon leave by car to Paro and check into the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 12: Paro
After an early breakfast leave to visit Haa via Chele-la pass 4200 meters. On clear weather one can have a superb views of Mountain Chomolhari & Jichu Drakey. Walk around a few minuats here and enjoy breathtaking views. From here drive downhill around 22 kms to reach Haa. On arrival see The Haa Dzong from outside with its excellent view - presently occupied by bhutanes Army.

Later visit the famous Monastery Lhakhang Karpo also know as White Temple, visit visit Lhakhang Nagpo - Black Temple. The three hills over the fringes of Haa valley used to call 'Me Rig Puen Sum' after the incidence of the Lhakhang Kdarpo construction. Now the three hills are known as 'Rig Sum Goenpa' signijfying three deities-Jambayang Chana Dorji and Chenrizig. After visiting all these stunning sights retun to Paro for overnight stay.

Day 13: Depart Paro
After breakfast transfer to the airport for flight to onward destination.
