Located in the north-east part of India, Agartala is the capital city of Tripura state. With the population 399,688, Agartala is the second largest city of North-East India after Guwahati. Situated in a plain area on the bank of Haora River, it is planned and founded by Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya Bahadur. In the era of 1940s, entire area was planned with well developed road and market buildings.
Agartala has humid subtropical climate and it experiences rain almost all the year.
