Located at the western coast of India along Arabian Sea, Panaji is the capital city of the smallest state Goa. Panaji is the third largest city of Goa after Vasco da Gama and Margao. Geographically, the city is located on the estuary of Mandovi River.

It is interesting to share that in English, the city name is spelled as Panjim; however, in Marathi it is written as ‘Panaji,’ which means ‘Land that never floods.’ Architected in classical style, the city is structure of concrete buildings with fanciful balconies and red-tiled roofs along with riverside promenade. Most of these houses are constructed in Latin style. In addition, there are various modern houses built along with gardens. Above all, you can also see here Portuguese architecture that constructed during the period of colonial period of Portuguese.

By Road: Panaji is well linked with road network and you can reach by bus from all neighbouring cities. Besides, there are also various private bus services that carry tourists from neighbouring states. Since, it is located only a few hundred kilometres from the mega cities Mumbai and Bangalore so, you can also enjoy driving to reach Panaji.

By Rail: Panaji is a major railway station which is connected with many major and minor cities of India. The trains run from Panaji connect with many cities including Mumbai Hyderabad, New Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai and many more.

By Air: Panaji has local airport namely Dabolim Airport located at the distance of 29 km from main city. You can catch domestic flights for Bangalore, Kochi, Mumbai, Chennai, Thiruvananthapuram and Delhi.
