Located in the central part of the state, Raipur is the capital city of the state Chhattisgarh. Raipur is not only administrative but also commercial and cultural centre of Chhattisgarh.

About 13 years back, it was the part of India's largest state Madhya Pradesh on November 1st, 2000, Chhattisgarh separated from Madhya Pradesh state and became an independent state with its capital Raipur. After this landmark date, the city experienced exponential growth. Today, the city is political centre with all modern infrastructures.

Raipur has many attractions worth for the tourism; important of them are:
Mahant Ghasidas Museum: The rich museum has been built by Raja Mahant Ghasidas in the year 1875.
Guru Tegh Bahadur Museum: Located beside Ghasidas Museum, it was built with the purpose to honour the Sikh Guru Tegh Bahadur.
Vivekananda Sarovar (Burha Talab): The sarovar is very much significant because of having one of the largest statues of Swami Vivekananda in the middle of the sarovar. The statue is measured as high as 37 ft and interestingly, it is also mentioned in the Limca Book of Records for being the largest model for a statue.
Purkhauti Muktangan Museum: Developed and endorsed by Culture Department under Ministry of Tourism, Government of Chhattisgarh, Purkhauti Muktangan Museum is pretty rich museum that covers an area of 18 hectares.
Sushilpikangan, The Art Gallery: It is popular for the native arts and represents the great example of finest workmanship.
Shabari handicrafts emporium and Chhattisgarh Haat: Popular for its local culture and it is important for the promotion of local artist and craftsman.
Mahakoshal Kala Parishad: The structure is popular for the exhibition of arts and paintings.
Nandanvan: Located in the western part of the city, it is a small zoo.
5D shows: Surprisingly, Raipur is one of the few cities in the whole country India which have three 5D theatres. The 5D theatres are located in City Mall 36, Magneto Mall, and CG City Centre.
