"Delhi is the symbol of old and new India. The air we breathe
is full of fragrances of the past, as also the fresh and piercing
winds of the present." This country capital of India stands
to represent a perfect blend of tradition and modernity. It's no
fairytale city, but a city where dreams get converted to reality.
Delhi offers vast cultural distinctiveness within its boundary.
The hub of the metropolis is Central New Delhi, which presents
a picture of the orderly, planned city capital established by
the British. Old Delhi however is quintessentially Indian, with
a warren of cluttered houses, traditional lifestyles and age-old
monuments such as the Purana Qila and Red Fort.
The city is lush with a plethora of temples, forts, mosques as
well as parks, gardens and beautiful colonial mansions. The strategic
location of the city was one of the prime reasons why successive
dynasties chose it as their seat of power. As befits a national
capital, Delhi provides plenty of opportunities to learn about
the rest of the country. The city may seem daunting to a first
time visitor but as a national capital and the gateway to the
North, it is a must visit city on any travelers itinerary.
Must sees & Dos at Delhi: Red Fort, Purana Qila, a walk through
the expansive markets at Old Delhi, Qutab Minar, India Gate, Jama
Masjid, Connaught Place, Rajghat, Rashtrapati Bhawan, Jantar Mantar,

tabloids from all over India and a remarkable display of artillery
power is one occasion which is a worth see.
