Highlights of the Tour:
Fairy Queen 1855 The Year when the majestic Fairy Queen rolled
out for the East Indian Railway. Similar class of locomotive hauled
the first passenger train which steamed out of Howrah station
destined for Hooghly a distance of 24 Kms. on the 15th. Aug. 1854.
An identical locomotive was also used to transport troops to Raniganj
during the famous 1857 War of Independence. This locomotive is
still capable of roaring back to life. The engine, is the oldest
working engine in the world. It was built in the year 1855 by
the British firm of Kitson, Thompson & Hewistson for the East
Indian Railway. Now, the Fairy Queen steams again, once a month
from Oct. 2004 to Feb. 2005. Taking 50 discerning passengers,
from around the world, an unforgettable trips to Alwar. From there
a short drive will take them to tiger country and an overnight
stay at a legendary Palace.
Day 1: Arrive Delhi
Arrive at Delhi. Met upon arrival and transfer to the Hotel. Overnight
stay at the Hotel.
Day 2: Delhi
Morning free for independent activities. Afternoon combined sightseeing
tour of Old & New Delhi. Overnight stay at the Hotel.
Day 3: Alwar - Sariska Palace
Morning departure transfer from Hotel to Delhi Cantonment Train
Station for boarding Fairy Queen Train leaving at 10.00 hrs. Reach
Alwar at 16.00 hrs. Rajasthani reception and transfer to Sariska
Palace by luxury coach. Overnight at Sariska Palace.
Day 4: Sariska Palace - Alwar
Morning visit to tiger sanctuary. 12.00 hrs transfer to Alwar
train station by luxury coach. Board Fairy Queen leaving at 13.00
hrs and reach Delhi Cantt. at 16.00 hrs. Transfer to hotel.
Day 5: Delhi - Agra - Delhi
Early morning transfer to train station to board Superfast train
for Agra. Arrive at Agra and met upon arrival with transfer for
sightseeing tour of world famous monuments. Visit to Taj Mahal,
Agra Fort in the morning. Afternoon visit to Fatehpur Sikri. In
the evening departure transfer to the train station to board return
Superfast train for Delhi. Arrive at Delhi and transfer to the
Hotel and stay overnight.
Day 6: Leave Delhi
It is time for your magical journey to come to an end. This morning
you will be transferred to the International Airport to board
onward destination flight.
