Kerala Wildlife Tour ( 07 Nights / 08 Days )
With the vast forest cover, Kerala wildlife tour is pretty fascinating for native tourists as well as foreigners. There are numbers of biosphere reserves where you can watch various species of animals, birds, and plants. Interestingly, Kerala has two wetlands enlisted in Ramsar Convention namely Vembanad-Kol wetlands and Sasthamkotta Lake.
Day 01 – Arrive Cochin
Meeting and transfer to the hotel. Afternoon tour of Cochin city. Evening watch Kathakali Dance. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 02 - Cochin to Munnar
Breakfast at hotel and leave for Munnar situated at 1600 meters above sea. Munnar was Summer Capital during British rule in India and is also known as tea estate around the world. Arrive and check into the hotel. Rest of the time free to visit the tea Gardens and Tea factory. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 03 – At Munnar – Day excursions to Eravikulam National Park
After an early breakfast at hotel in Munnar leave for an excursion trip to visit Eravikulam National park where you can see the Nilgiri Tahr. You will also see some other animals in the sanctuary like Elephants, Sambhars, Gaurs, Lion-tailed Macaque, Nilgiri, Langur, giant squirrel, Tigers and Leopards. Overnight at hotel in Munnar.
Day 04 – Munnar to Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary
Morning relaxed breakfast and proceed to reach Periyar Tiger Reserve in around 3 hours. Arrive and check into the Jungle lodge.
Afternoon Nature Walk in the jungle to see variety of birds including Darters, Cormorants, Kingfishers, the great Malabar Hornbill and racket-tailed Drongoes. You will also see reptiles like Lizards etc. Overnight at the lodge.
Day 05 – At Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary
Morning take boat ride at Lake Periya for game viewing from close. Aftenoon visit Cardamom hills to see Spice planation. Ovenight at the hotel.
Day 06 - Periyar to Alappuzha
Post breakfast in the morning leave for Alleppey or Alappuzha to board waiting houseboat and sail through the backwaters of Kerala. During you houseboat trip you will come across a variety of interesting places, different scenes from the villages, paddy fields, coconut palms, fisherman and local life. Meals and overnight at the houseboat.
Day 07 Kumarakoram
Post breakfast disembark houseboat at Alleppey Jetty and drive to at Kumarakom. Late visit Kumarakoram Bird Sanctuary – situated on the banks of Vembanad Lake and spread across around 14 acres of land. See a variety of domestic and migratory birds like Sibeian Stork, Egret, Darter, heron and Teal. Overnight at hotel.
Day 08 - Kumarakom to Cochin
Morning time free at Kumarakom for self exploration and you may enjoy water sports available at the lake. Afternoon transfer to Cochin Airport to board home bound flight.
