This is one of the gentlest treks one could find in the heart of the Himalaya. It is surrounded by Zansker on the south / west and the Ladakh on the north east and Karakoram ranges running parallel right behind Ladakh range and the mighty Indus River follows in between. The trek begins from Likir village which is famous for Clay and wood work and end at Temisgam once it uses to be the winter capital of Ladakh, during the trek one will be hiking through different villages. Where the religion and culture is very much part of their day to day life.

Day 01
: Arrive In Delhi & Fly to Leh

Assist on arrival and transfer to hotel in Delhi for wash and change, early morning transfer to the Domestic Airport to connect to the flight for Leh. On arrival at the Leh Airport and transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day at leisure for acclimatization, Later afternoon you will take a drive to Shanti Stupa which is just 3 km out of leh visit the Peace Stupa and drive to the market of Leh,

Day 02 : Spituk Monastery
After breakfast you will take a drive to Spitok Monastery. Visit the 15thce Buddhist Monastery and back to the hotel for Lunch.
Post lunch you will take a drive to Stok, This village is 17km. south of Leh, Present royal family reside in Stok Palace. Some of the room they convert into a Museum where they display some of their Jewelleries, King and queen crowns, apart from these they good very good collection of Thankas which are more than 500 years. Drive back to Leh for overnight stay.

Day 03 : Excursion to Shey, Thiksey and Hemis
Shey Palace: The Shey palace also known as Khar Chung was built by Deldan Namgyal in the beginning of the 17th century. It was erected on the ruins of an already existing castle. Shey Palace is under the administration of Hemis Monastery, There are two caretakers who comes from Hemis and serve in the royal chapel for two years

Thiksey monastery: The Great monastery of Thiksey towers on steep rocks at the periphery of an oasis on the right bank of the Indus. This monastery belongs to Elugpa order (Yellow sect). The layout of the monastery complex resembles the Potala palace in Lhasa. Hemis Monastery: 47 Kms from Leh on the west bank of the Indus, the monastery belongs to Drukpa order. It is built on a green hillside surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery and sort of hidden in a gorge. It is the biggest and wealthiest monastery in Ladakh and is a must for visitors. Within the monastery there are to be seen a copper-gilt statue of the Lord Buddha, various stupas made of gold and silver, sacred thankas and many objects.

Day 04 : Leh Likir via Basgo castle.
Morning drive to Likir. En-route you will visit Basgo castle which has declared as world heritage site by UNESCO. Drive to Likir upon arrival at Likir check in to camp, where you will meet your camp crew, who will be with you for next four days. Lunch at the camp after lunch visit the Likir Monastery and explore the beautiful village, see many religious artifacts in the monastery, visit the huge 9-storey open standing statue of Maitreya Buddha (Future Buddha). The statue is one of its kinds in the entire Himalayan Buddhist belt.

Day 05 : Likir Yangthang (05 hrs trek)
After breakfast start trek to Yangthang. Start your trek through barely field to cross a small stream & then gradually trek to village Yangthang to camp overnight.

Day 06 : Yangthang - Hemis Shukapachan (5-6 hrs trek)
Trek to Wulle valley and then ascent for one hour to Lchipkyangchan La and then descent towards Hemis Shukapachan, the highest village in this route. It's a big village and is famous for Juniper trees found in plenty here, hence the name of village. We will visit a family house and have some butter tea and Ladakhi chang (the local beer) there is a small but beautiful monastery in the middle of the village that we can visit. Day 07 : Hemis Shukapachan - Temisgam -Leh (5-6 hrs trek & then drive to Leh)
We trek through the Apricot rich village of Ang and reach Temisgam, the historical village, where one can visit the monastery and the Palace. This valley has warm weather as compared to Indus valley and hence conducive to thick vegetation and hence there are plenty of apricots, apples and Walnuts making it one of the richest valleys in Ladakh. Since people are rich they have beautiful houses with wonderful interior.

Day 08 : Temisgam Leh via Alchi
After breakfast drive back to leh via visit Alchi monastery. Alchi is one of the oldest Monasteries in Ladakh, and the wall murals which are more than one thousand year old and it is worth a stopover

Day 09 : Day trip to Khardung-la. (5605 mtrs)
After breakfast we leave for Khardung-la, 39 km driving through Gangles village (4200m) - the highest village in the Leh valley. The road ascends to reach Khardung La (5,600m), the world's highest motor-able road. From here have spectacular birds eye view of Leh town. Stok and Markha ranges on the south of the pass, Zansker ranges on the west and the great Karakoram Range on the North / East direction.

Day 10 : Leh Delhi
Early morning transfer to airport to fly back to Delhi, You will meet our representative and check in to hotel, post lunch sightseeing of some important monuments in Delhi, evening transfer to international airport.

Optional tour can be arrange to visit Agra for an overnight stay on arrival from Leh drive straight to Agra and next day visit the Akbar town, Fatehpur Sikri and Taj Mahal and drive back to Delhi, transfer to International airport for flight back home.
