A mountain – resort town, Mussorie is on the south facing slope of the 2000 mt. High Himalayan foothills. Developed by the British as an escape from the heat of the plains, it is now a premier tourist destination. Still cool getaway vignettes of the colonial era can still be seen. Mussorie has snow in winter, though not enough for skiing is leaf – green & flower – bright in spring; balmy & dove – echoing in summer; misty & fern – filled in the monsoon; hazy blue & nostalgic in autumn.
