Day 01 -  ARRIVE DELHI
Meeting and greetings on arrival at Delhi's international airport and transfer to the HOTEL for overnight stay.

Day 02 -  AT DELHI
Morning after relaxed breakfast at around 9 AM met your licensed guide and car at hotel lobby and proceed for combined tour of Old and New Delhi.

OLD DELHI : An ancient walled city. Here you will see Red Fort, the most opulent Fort and Palace of the Mughal Empire: Raj Ghat, the memo -rial site of the Mahatma Gandhi; Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India; and Chandni Chowk, the bustling and colourful market of the old city.  NEW DELHI : This city designed and built by the British in the 1920's - a city of wide boulevards impressive Government buildings, green parks and gardens. First you will visit two monuments from Delhi's past Humayun's Tomb and Qutub Minar. Then your drive takes you along the ceremonial avenue, Rajpath, past the imposing India Gate and Parliament House.

Day 03 – Delhi to Jaipur
Morning after buffet breakfast at the hotel proceed to Jaipur by car in around 5 hours time.  Arrive Jaipur and check in at the HOTEL.   Evening visit Chokhi Dhani Ethnic village to see artificial local life for experience (direct entrance fee).  You will have a chance to enjoy short camel ride / camel cart ride etc. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 04 - AT JAIPUR
Morning after breakfast at the hotel excursion to AMBER FORT - Amber is the classic romantic Rajasthani fort palace. Its construction was started by Man Singh I in 1592, and completed by his descendent Jai Singh I. It's forbidding exterior belies an inner paradise where a beautiful fusion of Mughal and Hindu styles finds it's ultimate expression.  Drive through HAWA MAHAL - The ornamental facade of this "Palace of Winds" is a prominent landmark in Jaipur. Its five-storey structure of sandstone plastered pink encrusted with fine trelliswork and elaborate balconies. The palace has 953 niches and windows. Built in 1799 by Pratap Singh, the Mahal was a royal grandstand for the palace women.

Afternoon tour of Jaipur city where you will visit CITY PALACE - A delightful blend of Mughal and traditional Rajasthani architecture, the City Palace sprawls over one-seventh of the area in the walled city. It houses the Chandra Mahal, Shri Govind Dev Temple and the City Palace Museum and JANTAR MANTAR - This is the largest and the best preserved of the five observatories built by Jai Singh II in different parts of the country. This observatory consisting of outsized astronomical instruments is still in use.

Day 05 – JAIPUR DRIVE TO AGRA (Drive time 5 hrs. approx.)
Morning after breakfast at the hotel drive to Agra enroute visiting FATEHPUR SIKRI :
A fascinating ghost town, lies a little beyond Agra the deserted Red sandstone city that was built by Emperor Akbar as his capital. It was a veritable fairy tale city and its ruins are still in a pristine condition. Set like a jewel in a courtyard of pink sandstone is the marble tomb of the Saint Salim Chisti, enclosed by delicately carved marble screens.

Arrive and check in at HOTEL. Later visit to Taj Mahal - visit to the world famous ‘Taj Mahal’ by ‘decorated tongas’. The inimitable poem in white marble, built over a period of 22 years by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in 1630 for his Queen Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her mortal remains. Also visit Red Fort built by three generations of  Mughal Emperors starting from Akbar the Great in 1565 AD, which is a masterpiece of design and construction.  It housed both the residential Palaces of the Royal family, and the military quarters.

Day 06  - Agra / Mathura / Delhi / Varanasi  - Overnight Train
Morning after relaxed breakfast at the hotel drive to Mathura and visit Shree Krishna Janam Bhoomi.  Later continue on to Delhi and board overnight train for Varanasi at 6.15 PM.  Overnight on board.

Day 07 -  Arrive Varanasi
Meeting  on arrival at Varanasi Railway Station at 8.40 AM and transfer to the Hotel for check in.  Rest of the morning free to relax from long train ride. 

Varanasi or Kashi as it was called in the 7th century B.C has been the religious capital of the Hindu faith since recorded time and is one of the oldest cities in the world and a hub of firmly rooted traditions. The old city of Varanasi is a maze of small streets and alleyways, hiding in disorderly array no less than 2000 temples and shrines. Domes, minarets, pinnacles and towers, and derelict 18th century palaces dominate the sacred left bank of the river Ganges.

Afternoon commence tour to visit SARNATH : 10 kms from the centre of the city, Sarnath symbolises the birth of Buddhism. It was here that Lord Buddha revealed his doctrine and founded his monastic community. The Museum at Sarnath is amongst the most important in India and contains carvings representing a whole range of styles - Archaic, the covering work of sculptors from 3rd century B.C. to the 12th century A.D.

Evening visit River Ganges to attend Ganga Arati.

Overnight at the hotel.

Day 08 : Varanasi to Delhi – Overnight train

Early morning boat ride on holy river Ganges followed by temple tour.
The tour consists of visiting the city temples – the durga temple, better known as the Monkey temple on account of the large number of monkeys residing there and the temple of Vishwanath (Vesheshwar "Lord of the Universe") are the most sacred spots in the city. Visit will also include Bharat Mata or Mother India Temple and the Benares Hindu University. Rest of the afternoon free explore the narrow streets of Varanasi on your own and feel the city.

 

Late afternoon transfer to Railway station to board overnight train for Delhi at 3.45 PM.  Overnight on board.

Day 09  – Arrive Delhi and proceed for Haridwar.

Arrive Delhi at 4.20 AM.  Meeting on arrival at Railway Station and driver straight to reach Haridwar in around 5 to 6 hours time.  Arrive and check into the hotel for some relax.  Late afternoon explore Haridwar and its temples.  Evening witness Ganga arati at Har Ki Pauri Ghat.  Overnight at the hotel.

Day 10 – Haridwar to Rishikesh – 45 minutes

Morning after relaxed breakfast at the hotel explore more of Haridwar and have holy dip in Ganges at Har ki Pauri.

Later proceed to Rishikesh and check into the hotel.  Later whole day explore temples and ashrams of Rishikesh.  Overnight at the hotel.

Day 11 – Rishikesh to Shimla – drive 7 to 8 hours

Morning after breakfast at the hotel drive to Shimla and check into the hotel on arrival.

Rest of the day free to relax.  Evening you may like to walk on the mall road.

 

Shimla is the capital town of Himachal Pradesh. The town of Shimla is built over several hills and connecting ridges. The important hills are Jakhu ( 2,455 meters ), Prospect Hill ( 2,328 meters ), Observatory Hill ( 2,350 meters ), Elysigim Hill ( 2,466 meters ) and Summer Hill ( 2,300 meters ). Shimla is situated in the North-West Himalayas and was the Summer Capital of India during the British rulling era. This town is spread over the ridge measuring about 12 km. It is perhaps the biggest hill station in the world, located at an altitude of 2,421 meters above sea level. A place of peace and pleasure, Shimla is a tourist resort in real sense of the world. The best season of the year here is autumn but the early spring runs a close second. Shimla is connected with air, rail, and road traffics. Shimla under snow is a wonderful sight and it offers the unique attraction of an open air ice skating rink. Also the legendary Ridge under snow and snow sports at Kufri make Shimla a wonderful winter holiday resort.

Day 12 : At Shimla

Morning tour of Shimla hills visiting Jakhu temple (Hiking), Wild Flower Hall, Christ Church and Museum.
Jakhu Hill :- ( 2,455 meters ) 2 km. from town. This is the highest peak of Shimla and offers panoramic view of the town and the mountains. 'Hanuman Temple of Jakhu' is very famous. According to legend, Hanumanji took some rest here when he was carrying a hill of 'Sanjiwani Booti' ( a herb to save the life of Lakshmana, the younger brother of Lord Rama ).

Wild Flower Hall :- ( 13 km. once the residence of Lord Kitchuer, the Commander-in-Chief of India in the beginning of the 20th century. This is surrounded by dense and beautiful pine forest. About 1 km from Wild Flower Hall is the ‘Retreat’ , the weekend resort of Lord Curzon. Between Wild Flower Hall and Retreat, ‘Hem Kunj’ ( formerly Dane's Folly ) the summer holiday resort of the Punjab Governor is situated. On January 4-5-1993, Wild Flower Hall was reduced to ashes in a major fire.
Afternoon free to stroll in the famous shopping place of Shimla town – The Mall & The Ridge.   Overnight at the hotel.

 
 

Day 13– Shimla to Manali – drive 6 hours
Morning after breakfast at the hotel drive to reach Manali via Kullu. Check into the Hotel on arrival.  Rest of the afternoon free to relax.  Overnight at the hotel.

Manali with its unspoilt scenic grandeur is extremely popular with the tourists, for a lavish display of natural scenery. It is one of the principal show places of the Kullu region. To its North, South and West are an ostentation of pinnacles and ridges which, in fine weather, stand out in bold relief against skyline. At the lower elevation and in every direction there are vivid green patches of grassland and evergreen valleys ascending in irregular formation present probably the best view in the country. Manali is situated at an altitude of 1,926 metres and spreads in 12.5 square km. It is the real starting point of an ancient trade rout.

Day 14 - At Manali
Morning after breakfast at the hotel excursion to Rohtang Pass (subject to road clearance or upto snow point ) :- ( 51 km. ) At an altitude of 3,978 metres on the highway to Keylong, the mass affords a wide-spread panorama of mountain scenery. Here eye meets a range of precipitous cliffs, huge glaciers and piled moraine and deep ravines. To the opposite is the well defined 'Sonepani Glacier' slightly to the left are the twin peaks of the Geyphang snow crowned. The Beas river rises near the crest of Rohtang from a block of Mica-Schist. To its left, 200 metres higher, is the little lake of 'Sarkund' (Dashahr) visited by a large number of people every year. The bath in the water of Sarkund lake effects cure of all bodily ailments or imaginary. The pass is open from June to October each year although trekkers can cross it earlier. It is the gateway to Lahaul-Spiti, Pangi and Leh valley.

Afternoon free to relax and enjoy surroundings.  Overnight at the hotel.

Day 15: At Manali
Morning commence half sightseeing of Manali day city tour visiting Hadimba Devi Temple, Vashisht Village and Tibetan Monastery. Overnight at hotel.
Hidimba Devi Temple :- ( 1.5 km. ) Built in 1553 A.D. also known as 'Doongri Temple' dedicated to the Goddess Hidimba ( Hirma Devi ), the wife of Bhima, has a four tiered pagoda shaped roof with a doorway carved with figures and symbols. Although carving is simple yet beautiful. This temple was built by Raja Bahadur Singh of Kullu.
Vashisht :- ( 3 km. ) This place is famous for its hot water springs and temples of Vashisht Rishi and Lord Rama. It is located on the bank of Beas, but well above the river. Natural hot sulphur springs with two separate bathing tanks for gents and ladies are always full of tourists. Turkish style showers fitted baths have also been built nearby. Hot water from the nearby spring is provided for bathing.
Jagatsukh :- ( 6 km. ) The original name of this was 'Nast', it remained the ancient capital of Kullu for about 10 generations. Jagatsukh is famous for its Shiva temple in Shikhara Style and interesting old temple of 'Gayatri Devi' and Devi Sharvali.
Tibetan Monastery :- A new but colorful Buddhist temple. It contains many idols of Buddha. This monastey is famous for its carpet weaving and Tibetan handicraft.

Rest of the evening free for independent activities. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 16 – Manali to Chandigarh – 8 to 9 hrs

Morning after breakfast at the hotel drive to Chandigarh to reach in around 5 hours time.  Chandigarh is the first man made city post independence of India. India's youngest city - planned by the famous French architect Le Corbusier. Capital of the States of Punjab and Haryana - but does not belong to either of them. Instead, it is...

A Union Territory, It means that the City is under the direct administration of the Government of India and not constituted as a state with its own legislative assembly. A Union Territory in India is something like the District of Columbia in the USA.

During your sightseeing of Chandigarh you will visit -  Sukhna Lake, rose Garden and the world famous Rock Garden created by Nek Chand from waste material. Overnight at your Hotel.

Day 17 – Chandigarh to Delhi Airport – 5 hours

Morning after relaxed breakfast at the hotel drive to Delhi Airport to board homebound flight.
