City tour of Pune known as the
“Queen of the Deccan”. The one time
bastion of the Maratha Empire, Pune is surrounded by hills and lies
in a fine natural setting unchanged by a pleasant and invigorating
climate. The city’s historical associations are inextricably
woven with the exploits of the 17th century warrior Shivaji. The
forts of the daring Marathas, who were probably the first to practise
guerilla warfare, are some of the highlights of the region. Visit
the amazing Raja Kelkar Museum - which houses a one man collection
of historical exhibits. Shaniwarwada Fort - the historic Palace
of the Peshwa rulers built in the 18th century.
Much of it is in ruins but it gives one an idea of the glory
of the Maratha power. Continue brief walk through the heart of
Pune - Laxmi Road for souvenir shopping. The tour ends at the
Sinhagad Fort at sunset.

- known more popularly as the “Osho ashram”. It is
a rewarding experience to visit this peaceful and beautiful ashram
which attracts foreigners from all over the world
