History of Kerala

The most powerful and influential dynasty that ruled the state during the ancient period was Chera Dyansty. Chera Dynasty had developed the region as international trading centre of spice. However, after the independence, it has experienced exponential growth and subsequently, it became the most literate state and one of the most developed states of India. Above all, as per the report of Transparency International Survey published in the year 2005, it has been ranked as the least corrupt state of India.

In addition, as per the research report published by Economic Research Firm Indicus Analytics, among the top ten liveable cities of India, five cities are located in Kerala. The state is also the cleanest and healthiest state of India.
