Amrabad Tiger Reserve – Wild Heart of Telangana

Situated in the Nallamala forest range, Amrabad Tiger Reserve was declared a tiger reserve in 2014 after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Spanning over 2,600 sq km, it is among the largest tiger reserves in India and plays a vital role in the conservation of tigers and other endangered species.


Flora and Fauna

The reserve is dominated by dry deciduous forests, teak trees, bamboo, and medicinal plants. Amrabad is home to a wide variety of wildlife including:

  • Bengal Tigers
  • Leopards
  • Sloth Bears
  • Indian Wolves
  • Wild Dogs (Dholes)
  • Chital, Sambar, Nilgai, and Blackbuck
