Meet traditional artisans and craftspeople
Delhi to Kutchh
Experience a different side of India on this immersive 16-day Living Crafts & Artisan Journey, designed for travellers interested in traditional arts, textiles, craftsmanship and authentic cultural experiences.
Beginning in Delhi, explore historic markets and discover India's diverse handicraft traditions before travelling to Agra, where you will see the intricate marble inlay craftsmanship associated with the Taj Mahal. Continue to Jaipur for hands-on experiences with traditional block printing, blue pottery, jewellery and miniature painting.
The journey then moves into less-visited Rajasthan, including the historic town of Bundi and the artistic city of Udaipur, where you will meet local painters and craftspeople and experience rural life and traditional cuisine.
In Gujarat, explore Ahmedabad's rich textile heritage before travelling to Patan to discover the remarkable Patola double-ikat weaving tradition. The journey culminates in Kutch, one of India's most fascinating artisan regions, where you will visit traditional craft villages and meet makers working with Ajrakh printing, Rogan art, copper bells, lacquer, embroidery, weaving and other local crafts.
More than a sightseeing tour, this journey offers opportunities to meet the makers, learn traditional techniques and experience India's living cultural heritage firsthand.
